Take me out to the ball game.

It was a windy but gorgeous night when we went to watch Sycamore High School’s opening game at Prasco Park’s Legacy Field.  The team was taking part in the Reds Futures High School Showcase.

As we entered the park Jake, Sam and friend Michaela raced each other on the free inflatable obstacle course while April and boyfriend Jake picked up a free book and blanket.

We stopped for food and bought 4 hot dogs(no buns), 2 potato chips, one nacho, and one bag of pretzel’s for $2.50!  Drinks for 5 only cost us $2.  This was not going to cost me an arm and a leg after all.

The team lined up…and my team took their seats.

Michaela, Jake with free blanket, peace sign Sam, April and Jacob C.

After only 2 innings the call for more food was coming frequently.  Since I had spent so little I decided we had enough to buy ice cream.  On the way to the ice cream truck we ran into Jake’s intramural basketball coach.Lots of knuckle bumps(we love Mr. Wittman) and a photo-op then it was on to ice cream.

I noticed something very strange while standing in line for the ice cream truck.  No one was giving the girl serving any money.  Could it be that the ice cream was FREE?  Yes it was……

Jacob is doing the University of Cincinnati symbol since the server was a volunteer from UC.  We got our ice cream and headed back to watch the rest of the game under a beautiful spring moon.

Our team won and I spent under $10 for the entire night.  Thanks PNC Bank and Prasco for underwriting the High School Showcase.  We had a blast.
