Tradition

Every year, for 60 years, the Blue Ash Memorial Day parade happens on Cooper St.  Every year, for 6 years, we gather kids, grandkids, sunscreen, chairs and drinks and walk up to Cooper to sit with our neighbors and watch.  We see patriotism, bands, politicians, cool cars, boy scouts, girl scouts and various churches and organizations marching by.  Lots of candy is thrown and collected.  The parade ends in the middle of town at the Veterans Memorial where there are speeches and a wreath placed in remembrance.  Every year, year after year, and we are fortunate that we can be a part of this tradition of remembering.

  1. you know i love a parade. it’s so fun to see everyone come out for them and the kids love it. it’s especially great when we get to honor our military! Teri

    • You are so right Terri!

  2. What a fun day you had. We are very excited because our son, Brian, returns from Afghanistan this Friday!!! He has served as a hospital chaplain at Bagram Air Base near Kabul. About 3 weeks ago, he missed an IED attack by 5 minutes on his way to Kandahar. We are praising the Lord for his safe return.

    • Praise God Vicky. We are so excited that Brian is coming home!
