The pictures are from last year but around here the excitement is running high for the opportunity to vote again. April was up, dressed and ready to vote at 6:15 a.m. She wanted to be at the polls when they opened. I, on the other hand, was still in my pajamas making breakfast for Jake and Sam.
April has let the world know, via Facebook, who she supports in this election. She and several of her older siblings are not in agreement on who to vote for. That’s OK because it gave us an opportunity to discuss the political process and the fact that we are allowed to vote for the candidate of our choice.
Later today the Hunk, myself, April and Jake will walk to our polling place. Sam will come along and observe the process. Don’t miss the opportunity to vote and teach your children with and without Down syndrome about this important process. We really do believe that every vote counts.
