When Sam arrives home it is like a tornado has arrived. Off come the shoes and the bookbag is tossed on the floor. Next he throws his sweatshirt on the floor of the closet because why bother with a hanger when there is a perfectly good floor. After washing off the germs from the high school he starts looking for food and that is when the wonder dog, Max, comes to life.Max doesn’t even get out of bed when I arrive home but let him hear the Hunk’s car and he is waiting by the door. Max knows who feeds him snacks! Last night Sam and I were on the floor playing board games when he looked over and saw Max, head hanging over his bed, watching us. Sam thought it was hilarious and told me to get the camera. Of course the wonder dog and Sam both moved but we still managed a photo shoot.
Max is pushing 10 years old but still loves to play. After a therapy session with Max, Sam actually slows down and we begin our afternoon ritual of homework, food, chores, food, reading, food, Wii game, food, dinner, TV time, food and then bedtime and snack. Sam just can’t seem to get enough to eat and neither can Max!
― John Grogan, Marley and Me: Life and Love With the World’s Worst Dog Well said John. We feel the same way about Max!
